Institute of Gastroenterology at Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata was established with an attempt to create a unique comprehensive unit for managing patients with gastrointestinal , liver and pancreatic diseases. The Institute is manned by a team of esteemed and experienced gastroenterologist, a group of efficient and compassionate Medical officers, experienced, well trained technicians, nurses and other supportive staffs.
The department is providing daily outpatient clinic, round the clock emergency services, indoor & dedicated ITU facilities, all diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies and ERCPs with videoscopes for adults and children. The Institute over these last one year has been able to provide an international standard of clinical , investigational and therapeutic service in the field of gasteroentrology. In this period approximately 1200 patients have been admitted and about 5000 endoscopic procedures have been performed.
Apollo Gleneagles Hospital, Kolkata is the only hospital in India with dedicated Gasteroentrology `Intensive Therapy Unit' for managing complex diseases such as pancreatitis, gastro intestinal bleeding, liver failure etc.
